Youtube is the number one video site without any doubt and it will remain the same in upcoming years because of consistent new features being added to the site. Either its music, movies, tutorial or any other stuff people love to get the video instead of reading the text ( not in case of multimedia ) as after watching the former they can retain the things for a longer time.
Instead of watching the video on the site itself, I always prefer to download it to the computer so that I can watch it later as well without the internet connection. Though I have an unlimited internet plan but everyone is not using the unlimited download plan rather many dont have the need for such a plan but sometimes they do watch videos on Youtube and its better to download the same to lower the data usage.
In the past as well we have shared many tricks with all to download videos from Youtube including few websites that you can use to download videos ( I dont use either of them now but used to do the same when posted about them ), the real player plugin and if you are using a Mac then can use this free software to download the videos.
I always prefer to use IDM ( Internet Download Manager ) for downloading videos and movies from Youtube but sometimes I need to work on different computers without the installed software, then my choice is the Real Downloader for the same. Recently I was working on a friend`s computer and thought to download a video but as I have updated the old Firefox on his laptop to the latest version which is 13 now, the RealDownloader is incompatible with the latest version so I tried on Chrome but again couldnt download the video.Two months back when we shared the Easter giveaway from MacX, I was just browsing their website and found the free downloading software and thought to give it a try in this scenario and was surprised to see the free utility as its an awesome software.
You can also download the software for your Windows operating system from :-

After installation just open the software and click the plus icon to add the video for downloading as shown below.
Now just copy the URL of the video that you wish to download using the software and paste in the address bar of the software, then click on analyze button and after that it will show you the list of all the available resolution and format to download the video, just select your choice and click on ok as shown below.
Once the video is there in the main window of the software just select it and click on download as shown in the image, you can also preview the video in the software but its better to do the same on Youtube itself.
There are many other softwares available for the same purpose but I found this one to be simple in use.
