Hope you all are fine and safe with your loved ones!

Its been quite long, and you all must be wondering where am I? Though I planned to post like older days many times, but new learnings didn't give much time along with restricted work environment. Earlier, it was for home users and later planned for Enterprise Users as well but then things kept going on. I am glad that few of you are connected to me on other platforms via different pages and might have seen a lot of free stuff posted as usual, where it is easy to share the things quickly.

Its been around 1.5 years, we have not arranged license giveaways as I was planning to move them all on a separate domain: Softwares Community. Many of you, were already subscribed but it wasn't active because of hosting issues. Experts Galaxy would be a tutorial only blog as per Consumer or Enterprise users, though you can subscribe to both of them.

I have been planning to launch the enterprise version of Experts Galaxy for quite a long time. Initially, I was waiting for Microsoft Windows Server 2016 to begin the blog, but then I planned to launch it with the Linux world (Details would be shared later in a blog post). I have already shared many Linux installations here and now there is the CentOS installation, which is used in many companies as Linux Server.

Kaspersky has always been in our favorite list if we talk about Antivirus. If you are regular at Experts Galaxy then you must be running a good security software and that too for free. Running a good Antivirus doesn't guarantee the security of your PC, if the other software are outdated. Anyone can make use of the vulnerabilities present in the older version of the installed software to bypass the security software.

Linux has its own world and people are moving gradually to it even though they are not aware about the same. Android is a Linux based OS and it is one of the most used Operating System for mobiles. I have been playing with Linux for quite long, used to do a bit or two things and then planned to complete my Redhat Certification, which I did last year.

Experts Galaxy is incomplete without a security software's license giveaway. Though I might move all the license giveaways to another site in future but let it be here only, till the time I re-launch it. So here comes another license giveaway for an Antivirus and this time again it is for Bitdefender along with Zemana Antilogger.

Finally the day is here when we need to say bye to our favorite OS. Yes, I am talking about The Windows XP Era. I got my first computer back in the mid of 2006 or may be at the begining of 2007( I don't remember the exact year) and it came pre-installed with Windows XP( Don't remember if it was a genuine XP or not because later on it started giving issues while updating though it was a Compaq computer and after that only, I learned that even the authorized vendors can give you pirated softwares).

Once again God has given me a chance to wish you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year. I thank the Almighty for giving us another year to celebrate. I hope the previous year was an amazing one for you and I wish this new year to be more sparkling for you.

Internet is expanding rapidly and hence the number of blogs and websites, as a result more and more domain names are getting registered from different registrars. Earlier GoDaddy was one of the famous registrars but now many other are there in the market and changing the older trends of domain registration. Many GoDaddy customers are switching to different registrars and Name.com is one of them.

Bitdefender is another competing security vendor along with Kaspersky which provides very good security solution for all categories. I have used most of their home products and thinking to try their server solution too as these days I am busy experimenting the Windows Server along with Linux, yes you got it right as you were not getting any updates from us, I was busy learning the technology and as a result I would share much more in future.

Now a days VPN is a good service package that users love to use on their devices that are connected to internet. Many people use a VPN service just to be anonymous on the internet despite knowing the fact how their identity can be misused. After the PRISM controversy in the US, people are scared or concern about their privacy over the web. Even I agree with the tagline "Security & Privacy are not optional" on the Mozilla Firefox Start Page.

You all must be wondering where we have been for a long time as I have not posted anything in last few months. As informed in my last post that I was busy with many things including few projects and when I was ready to post then I got some health issues so could not sit in front of the computer. Finally I am all set to start the second innings at EG.

Security is an essential part of the digital world and needs improvement every now and then, whenever, wherever possible. Either its home computers, servers, blogs or websites everything needs to be secure as much as it can be. If you are a blog owner then your blog`s security is related to the security of your blog`s readers as well. If your blog or website gets compromised then it may be redirected to anyother malicious website. If someone posts a spam comment containing any malicious link and if a novice user clicks on that thinking it will solve his problem then again its a big problem.

Sophos is not just another brand name in the market, its one of the established security vendors and a very old indeed. It is not famous among home users but they have established their name in the enterprise security, specially in Email and Network Security. Depending upon their Alexa rank they could be in our top ten Antivirus list but Bitdefender has improved the same after the promo of their Total Security latest version for 90 days and now takes the tenth place, which it was sharing before with PC Tools in our list.

Experts Galaxy is hosted on blogger so the security for this blog is taken care by Google itself, but for our home computers we need to take care of the things on our own. If you are using a good security software and regularly updates your Windows then also you are not 100% secure because if there is any software installed which is vulnerable to risk or has reached the end of life state then using the loop hole in the software anyone can compromise the security of your computer. You might heard about many data breaches all over the internet of big companies ( recently it happened with Yahoo ), in most of the cases the hacker used a vulnerability found by him in the server or web application running on it.

Rescue Disk is a great tool in a scenario of no-boot because of virus infections and it also saves your time that you will be spending in the reinstallation of a corrupted operating system. People giving technical support in their local area or over the internet should be familiar with atleast one such disk to save the client`s computer and time both. Bitdefender is a good alternative to Kaspersky in this category though there are other rescue disks also available from different security vendors, so depending upon the case you can use either of them.
