Rescue Disk is a great tool in a scenario of no-boot because of virus infections and it also saves your time that you will be spending in the reinstallation of a corrupted operating system. People giving technical support in their local area or over the internet should be familiar with atleast one such disk to save the client`s computer and time both. Bitdefender is a good alternative to Kaspersky in this category though there are other rescue disks also available from different security vendors, so depending upon the case you can use either of them.

Kaspersky rescue disk is a great utility to fix your infected computer, if it is not starting properly. A badly infected computer does not start either in normal  mode or safe mode, so at that time the best option is to start the computer using a rescue disk and one from Kaspersky is my first choice in this scenario. If you have a computer running Kaspersky security software then you can create an updated rescue disk and record it to a CD or USB drive to use in offline computers.

Recently one of my friend called me as his computer wasn`t playing dvds but was able to play cds in the computer. I thought that it could be a hardware firmware issue as well so before any troubleshooting the very first thing I did to check hardware using a live cd of Puppy linux, which confirmed that the hardware was fine so the next issue could be of software. First of all I thought to run a virus scan using a Kaspersky Rescue Disk.
